Some Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Boot Camp?
Boot Camp is a well-designed, outdoor fitness program that meets twice per week.
Who is Boot Camp for?
Boot Camp is for men and women of all ages, sizes, shapes and fitness abilities.
Everyone is encouraged to do their best. Remember you don’t have to be in shape to join because no one gets left behind and there are no crew cuts required! All our Boot Camp Drill Sergeant will do is motivate you in a positive way to do your best.
What will I be doing?
During Boot Camp all recruits will be doing stretches, body weight work, military style drills, running laps and sprints, interval work, obstacle course and whatever other surprises your Drill Sergeant will have in store for the day. He will make the workouts fun and challenging at the same time.
At the beginning and end of your Boot Camp you will see how many push ups, sit ups you can do in 60 seconds and how long it takes to walk or run 500 meters.
Remember it doesn’t matter where you start, even if you can’t do one push up, you won’t be alone. At the end of the six week program you will feel great & have made new friends who have gone through the same body changing experience as you have.
What if it’s raining?
Rain, hail or shine Boot Camp will go on!
What should I bring?
You will be supplied a training shirt, otherwise you should wear comfortable clothes and a good pair of running shoes. Dress warm for the morning classes (layers), but be ready to sweat. We also recommend you bring a towel and a water bottle.
I am not in shape. Will I make it to the end?
Yes, we do not ask anyone to do more than they can do safely. You will be taken from where you are now physically to do the best you can do.
I am already an athlete. Will I get anything out of the program?
Yes, the core of the program is an overall, well designed whole body workout. The fitter you are, the harder the Drill Sergeant will push you.
How much weight can I lose?
The answer is up to you. The maximum amount of body fat you can lose is 1/2 to 1 kg per week. The average is 3 kgs over 6 weeks. The recruits that have the greatest success are the ones that have worked hard and adopted a healthy eating plan.
Remember, if you are losing fat and building muscle there may be little weight loss, as one balances the other, but your body will change shape.
How long is each boot camp session?
Each session lasts for 1 hour.
